This past Sunday was one of those days that reminds us why we do what we do. From the moment we gathered at the park to pray, we could sense God's presence and knew He was about to move in powerful ways.
An Incredible Turnout
Over 40 people stopped to hear the Gospel message throughout the day. Some stayed for just a few minutes, others lingered for nearly an hour, asking questions and engaging in deep conversations about faith, salvation, and the meaning of life.
What struck us most was the diversity of people who stopped—young and old, rich and poor, believers and skeptics. The Gospel truly is for everyone, and Sunday proved that once again.
A Young Man's Encounter with Jesus
One of the most powerful moments came when a young man in his early twenties stopped to listen. At first, he stood at a distance, arms crossed, looking skeptical. But as the message continued, we noticed his posture change. His arms dropped to his sides, and tears began streaming down his face.
"I've been running from God for so long. I didn't think He could still love me after everything I've done."
— Young man who encountered Jesus on Sunday
Our team gathered around him, and right there on the busy downtown street, he prayed to receive Christ. It was a beautiful reminder that God meets people exactly where they are—even on a crowded sidewalk.
Conversations That Matter
Beyond the one-on-one conversations, we had several group discussions that lasted over 30 minutes. People asked tough questions:
- "How can a loving God allow suffering?"
- "What about people who never hear the Gospel?"
- "Aren't all religions basically the same?"
- "How do you know the Bible is true?"
These weren't hostile questions—they were genuine seekers wrestling with real doubts. Our team was able to provide thoughtful, biblical answers while showing love and respect. Several people thanked us for taking their questions seriously and not dismissing their concerns.
Opposition and Encouragement
Of course, not everyone was receptive. We faced some opposition—a few people yelled at us to stop, others mocked, and one person even tried to drown out our message with loud music. But we've learned that opposition often means we're hitting a nerve and that the enemy is threatened by the truth being proclaimed.
Interestingly, for every person who opposed us, there were two or three who came up afterward to encourage us. One elderly woman brought us water bottles and said, "Thank you for doing this. The world needs to hear this message." Another man, who identified as a believer, said he was convicted by our boldness and planned to start sharing his faith more openly.

What We Learned
Every outreach teaches us something new. Here are a few lessons from Sunday:
- Prayer is essential. The time we spent praying before going out set the tone for the entire day. We can't do this in our own strength.
- Love disarms hostility. When we respond to opposition with love and grace, it often softens hearts and opens doors for conversation.
- People are hungry for truth. Despite what culture says, people are still searching for meaning and purpose. They want to know if God is real and if He cares about them.
- Boldness inspires boldness. When believers see others stepping out in faith, it encourages them to do the same.
